FinDatEx

Mission statement

FinDatEx (Financial Data Exchange) was established by representatives of the European financial services sector in 2019 to support the development and use of standardised technical templates for the exchange of data between product manufacturers, distributors and other stakeholders when applying EU legislation.

Objectives

FinDatEx aims to:

- collectively decide to develop or disband standards, in the form of technical templates, to facilitate the exchange of data between stakeholders when applying EU financial markets legislation;

- coordinate the standardisation work carried out by experts from the different parts of the financial services sector; and,

- disseminate the agreed technical templates throughout the EU financial services sector.

The joint structure builds on an informal collaboration in the formerly established European Working Group (EWG), by stakeholders including various European and national financial services associations and companies, as well as the Club Ampère. The EWG was eventually transformed into the formal structure of FinDatEx.

FinDatEx standardisation processes and templates

FinDatEx operates in an inclusive, open, and transparent manner. The templates and standardisation processes available on this website are designed to facilitate consistent, efficient data exchange between market participants through structured, standardised approaches.

The use of FinDatEx templates is entirely voluntary. They are made available free of charge and may be used and adapted by market participants to suit their specific operational, contractual, and regulatory requirements. The name “Financial Data Exchange”, “FinDatEx” and any associated logos or trademarks remain protected and may not be used without prior permission.
